In great shape at 72 – Interview with a Power Gym client

Today’s blog post is an interview with our Power Gym client – the inspiring Mr. Harold (please scroll down below the video).

Thank you for agreeing to speak with us. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

It is my pleasure to speak with you. I have lived in different places in Canada – Gaspé, Ottawa, Halifax and Montréal. I am a career teacher and have been teaching in the public school system for over 45 years now. I am now 72 years old.

What was your fitness level prior to coming to Power Gym?

I have always enjoyed outdoors sports, particularly snowblading and motorcycling. However, in recent years hip and knee problems have prevented me from doing these activities. I found it difficult to even get on to a motorcycle.

What brought you to Power Gym? What is the fitness routine like?

First, it is located close to where I live.  Second, the fact that I train with Kamen, has motivated me to become a regular visitor. I workout with Kamen 2 days a week on upper body exercises and 2 days on lower body exercises. The remaining days I prefer to work out by myself, doing a lot of cardio and stretching.

What have been the benefits of working out at Power Gym?

Both my physical and mental health have improved tremendously! I love working out, and feel bad if I ever skip going to the gym. I have bought myself an e-scooter and hope to get back to snowblading this winter. I cannot emphasize enough the value of working with Kamen. He is a great coach – knowledgeable and a great motivator. It would have been difficult to bring about these positive changes by myself.
